About Seven Bridges
Seven Bridges is the biomedical data analysis company accelerating breakthroughs in genomics research for cancer, drug development and precision medicine. We democratize genomics by enabling researchers anywhere to process and understand genomic data faster and more efficiently than ever, at any scale. Thousands of researchers in government, biotech, pharmaceutical and academic labs use Seven Bridges, including three of the largest genomics projects in the world: U.S. National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Genomics Cloud pilot, honored with the Bio-IT World Best of Show award 2016, the Million Veteran Program, and Genomics England’s 100,000 Genomes Project. As the NIH’s only commercial Trusted Partner, Seven Bridges authenticates and authorizes access to one of the world’s largest cancer genomics dataset. Company offices are located in Cambridge, Mass., San Francisco, London, Belgrade, Istanbul and Ankara.
As a member of our global R&D team, you will research and apply cutting edge statistical and machine learning methods to draw novel insight from genomics datasets. You will develop new strategies and tools for analyzing and visualizing next generation DNA sequencing and associated clinical data. Working collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team of R&D engineers, clinical geneticists, computer scientists, mathematicians and statisticians, you will develop and apply rigorous statistical, modeling, simulation, and predictive analytics to genomics and biomedical datasets.
An ideal candidate has:
BA, BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or a related discipline
Knowledge of statistics and probability and their application to quantitative analysis
Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
Strong knowledge of statistical software (e.g. R, Python etc)
Experience with handling and managing large datasets
Experience with data visualization tools
Ability to learn new subjects quickly and thoroughly
Excellent spoken and written English
Ability to work as a team member and independently
We also think that:
Experience with large-scale analysis of next generation DNA sequencing data and familiarity with genomic or health related data are a plus;
Experience working with database structures (MySQL) and familiarity with database query performance optimization is a plus;
Experience with machine learning is a plus;
Experience with other scripting and compiled languages is a plus;
Experience with cloud computing is a plus.
We don't require the candidates to meet every single requirement on our list. Above all we are looking for a strong cultural fit, as we value our team more than anything else and we like to learn from each other and share the knowledge. In return, we offer a relaxed and open work environment, flexible working hours, and great work conditions.
If you would like to help us advance genomics at our leading, well-funded, and dynamic startup, please apply. A cover letter that describes why you are interested in Seven Bridges Genomics and how your skills and expertise would add value to our work is a plus.
