As a Junior Developer you will join an exceptional team based in locations around the world. This team’s mission is to design, develop and launch a massively scalable, multi-tenant-aware and extremely fast data management engine. We make use of, and contribute back to, the Hadoop eco system and explore far-reaching integration possibilities into HDFS, Spark and other components.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a developer of SAP Vora you will focus the on design, coding, testing and quality assurance of specific product features within a development team. Working with cutting edge technology you will benefit from ongoing mentoring and training.

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out research and development activities in Cluster Management for Big Data Platform

• Working on cutting-edge technologies in the field of Big Data, in-memory, UI5, and Cloud

• Working closely with customers and stakeholders of the new product

• Supporting customers and applications to use the new product.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

We are looking for candidates with a high interest in Big Data scenarios and have programming skills in GoLang, Scala, Java or Python.

In addition to the technical skills we are also looking for candidates comfortable working in an agile development environment and are self-driven, can work independently and are willing to work flexibly to support demand.

It would also be an advantage to possess the following:

• Knowledge in Hadoop (HDFS, YARN), its programming models (MapReduce, Spark), and its services such as Hive, HBase etc.

• Knowledge in Kubernetes

• Knowledge in automatization frameworks such as Ansible or Chef

• Experience with databases and SQL

• Experience with Unix, Script languages, JSON, REST

• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Previous work experience is not required (but is an advantage) as this role will suit a recent graduate with a relevant degree.
