RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
The European Special Situations Group (ESSG) within the Securities Division is looking for an Analyst with a demonstrated interest in fundamental/value investing to join the Growth Markets team in Istanbul.
ESSG is a multi-product investing and financing group within the Securities Division covering developed and emerging markets in EMEA region. The Group focusses primarily on distressed, special situations and growth capital investment opportunities. Growth Markets focusses on off-market growth capital investment opportunities in Russia, CIS, Turkey, Middle East and Africa. Our core value is building strong relationships with our institutional clients, which include corporations, financial service providers, and fund managers. HOW YOU WILL FULFIL YOUR POTENTIAL
Analyst will be working as part of the Growth Markets team in Istanbul focusing on growth capital investment opportunities in Turkey and Middle East
The role is highly analytical with emphasis on fundamental valuation, financial modelling, analysis of financial accounts, legal documentation and involvement in deal negotiation and dynamics
Analyst will be expected to express investment views and to play a role in screening and developing new investment ideas
Analyst will be involved in due diligence on live deals, conducting market research, interacting with advisors and management teams, and preparing investment committee materials
Focus primarily on structured equity investment and financing opportunities
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Strong academic record with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Studies, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline from a distinguished academic institution required
Minimum 1-2 years of prior experience in private equity or investment banking industry with a focus on corporate finance and M&A required
Experience in conducting due diligence, documentation, managing portfolio companies including monitoring of operational and financial performance required
Strong quantitative/financial modelling/analytical, problem-solving skills required
Excellent MS Excel skills essential and knowledge of MS Power Point and S&P Capital IQ preferred
Commercial awareness with an understanding of financial markets and emerging markets required
Demonstrated interest and aptitude for evaluating and recommending investments through personal interest and/or professional experience
Fluency in English essential and knowledge of Turkish preferred
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
Confident communication and interpersonal skills essential
Solid work ethic and high levels of motivation required
