Description

The CAN MEA Strategic Marketing Lead is responsible for the deployment of the CAN MEA marketing strategy with a clear focus on organic growth which is driven by NPSS and additives (micro ingredients)

30% STRATEGY & PLANNING

  • Supports the SMT leader in the development and deployment of the marketing strategy within CAN MEA by driving the overall marketing vision, strategy, customer segmentation and business implementation (may include leading the formulation of channel management strategies, managing the product portfolio, give input to set pricing strategy, product and promotional strategies).

  • Responsible for contributing to strategy and overseeing execution for category marketing activities across different species. Confers with technical species lead, commercial teams, product managers and communication team the tactical marketing plans (Go-To-Market).

  • Drives implementation of customer segmentation and sub segmentation and oversees the execution of how we grow relationships in order to expand business (e.g. decrease /increase the number of SKUs, utilizing marketing strategies such as private label vs. brand).

  • Drives continues improvement of the marketing strategy through professionalizing the way the marketing strategy is developed (e.g. use of relevant marketing academy tools).

  • Responsible for the execution of the organic growth strategy and supports the inorganic growth agenda.

30% NEW PRODUCT, SERVICE, AND SOLUTION DEPLOYMENT

  • Provides input to the development of the new product service and solution (NPSS) strategy and plans required by the marketing strategy.

  • Oversees the monitoring of business performance of NPSS during its launch phase (distribution, visibility, price, early experience of the consumer) while ensuring the adjustments necessary to achieve the objectives for the product.

  • Contributes and oversees the execution of the NPSS plans to support the overall marketing strategy and supports the development of a NPSS plan as part of the overall marketing plan as a basis for implementation in CAN MEA.

  • Using full knowledge, drives the customer focused innovation capability forward

  • Provides and facilitates coaching and training to go to market teams (e.g. Species Technology leads, Marketing, Communication) to create, develop, launch and support sales of new solutions.

  • Monitors the business performance of NPSS and micronutrition specifically during its launch phase (distribution channel, visibility, price, early experience of the consumer).

20% RESEARCH & ANALYTICS

  • Has oversight for ensuring the market research projects and business analysis studies are conducted to support the marketing strategy. Has oversight responsibilities for market research and or market analysis projects and recommends and leads course of action (e.g. customer surveys, customer analytics new product concept research).

  • Maintains expert industry knowledge across a specialized spectrum to ensure marketing strategies utilized by Cargill are effectively in touch with the regional marketplace.

  • Executes score card metrics that are related to the performance of marketing at CAN MEA level and responsible of identify actions to meet or exceed targets.

  • Provides input to the continual upgrading of the approach taken to develop and deliver the marketing research and analytics through professionalizing the way the approaches taken (e.g. use of relevant marketing academy tools).

20% PEOPLE & BUDGET MANAGEMENT

  • Recruits, coaches, trains, and develops subordinates (direct) in marketing planning activities and in professional development.

  • Leads revenue management and planning on NPSS across CAN MEA.

  • Leads team resources and budgets, and provides vision for the development of compelling value propositions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in marketing, general business or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant (B2B) marketing experience (animal nutrition industry preferred).

  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing principles & tools, able to translate research learning into insights & recommendations for the business.

  • Demonstrated conceptual skills with experience in developing new concepts & solutions.

  • Effective project management skills, ability to coordinate a virtual team.

  • Excellent communicator and compelling presenter with strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Flexible, able to work independently, set and follow priorities, manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Business/Commercial savviness, customer focused mind-set.

  • International outlook/experience, full professional proficiency in English (both verbal and written), additional languages an advantage.

  • Fluent in English

  • Excellent with PowerPoint and Excel, advanced in web research, knowledge of Digital Media a strong advantage.

  • Completion of Cargill Marketing Academy (internal candidates).

  • Experience in product lines or markets at all stages of life cycle.

  • Ability to get things done through others

  • Willing to travel 30% of the time
