This position works closely with the Commercial (hub) Managers in Distributor Markets, EMEA Marketing Managers, Sales Training Manager EMEA, Sales Trainers and Training Content Specialist EMEA to develop and implement training programs that support key commercial strategies with a very strong focus on Distributor Markets.
The candidate determines the appropriate training to deliver product knowledge, marketing programs, selling skills and business acumen. He/she has a direct impact on how valuable and appropriate the information is that will be given to the commercial organization and distributors representing Abbott. Delivering and executing the knowledge and skills training curriculum, based on needs analysis and assessment of the current business environment, is a key responsibility. He/she develops training programs primarily for new product launches, marketing programs, new hire training and needs based training for sales staff from AMO distributors. He/she also provides evaluation criteria and metrics to determine program success and effectiveness. This person is able to assess training requirements and develops appropriate materials that mesh with a variety of learning styles.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
− Through effective data analysis, assess knowledge and skills gap/needs in the sales organization. Identify existing gaps, root causes and recommend solutions. Identify training requirements for all products in area of responsibility.
− Participate in the development of new product content under the direction of the Commercial Managers Distributor Markets, Marketing Managers and the Sales Training Manager.
− Execute training plan and strategy to support specific roles and responsibilities of all new hires and existing (distributor) sales individuals within the area of responsibility.
− Monitor progress, provide feedback and coordinate remediation plans of sales individuals.
− Responsible for training evaluating to determine effectiveness and report results.
− Implement, explain and reinforce marketing programs and related tools to AMO´s distributors in EMEA.
− Subject Matter Expert (SME) on products and their related markets to provide quality training and skill programs that meet organisational needs.
− Field travel with new hires and distributor representatives as business requires.
− Proficient on messaging and sales strategy for products and continuously updated training and materials.
− Participate with in-house trainers in the successful delivery of new hire and experienced TM training.
− Assist with the onboarding of new TM´s (AMO and distributors) by developing a training plan.
− Deliver new hire field based training (AMO and distributors) and monitor new hires during home study, field travel phase and post new hire follow-up.
− Attend trade shows such as ESCRS to increase knowledge on products in area of responsibility.
− Demonstrated a proven track record of driving for results in selling situations as medical device sales representative with at least 3 years of experience. Affinity with marketing is a requirement, experience with either Training or Sales management and/or marketing is desirable.
− Experience in large, complex organizations; exposure to commercial environment is preferred.
− Must be a SME in selling the specific products, in order to effectively design and implement training programs that will support field training needs.
− Must be able to integrate a variety of input on training approaches to develop appropriate and effective training programs for the areas.
− Strong presentation and facilitation skills. Ability to deliver effective and motivational communication and training to trainees.
− Fluent written and spoken English, an additional European language skill is an advantage.
− Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Optometrist educational level through optical colleges or university is a pre.
− This position requires travelling, >50% of the time.
− Candidate is ideally located in Turkey close to an airport in a country with good access to the EMEA region, especially Eastern Europe and Middle East.
