Position Purpose & Summary:

The Poultry and Gut Health Expert CAN MEA will be responsible of the technical poultry health approach and laboratory health services for key accounts customers. This key position enables the CAN MEA business to enhance its organic commercial growth agenda by offering our best poultry health technology to an exclusive set of customers. The role will support our sales and technical poultry teams in providing health services and advices to key accounts. The role provides leadership to a multi-cultural and multi locations team of sales and technical teams. The person belongs to the best of its kind in the industry and which makes this role a very senior one.

Principal Accountabilities:


  • Be our lead during technical meetings with Regional key accounts and able to discuss poultry health programs and services and provide solid health advice to those customers.

  • Apply our technology and services (poultry health) at selected key customers and prospects crucial for our future growth agenda.

  • Farm visit if necessary

  • On Farm troubleshooting and problem solving

  • Collect samples (Health and Nutrition)

  • Gut health, housing management and poultry health scoring

  • Following our current trial(s) with our customers.

  • Expanding poultry health approach services (poultry health) across CAN MEA area and through this approach develop a team that can service our regional customers as trusted advisors.

  • Develop and administer ongoing testing protocol for poultry disease monitoring, disease susceptibility and prevention, and vaccination programs. Monitor performance and recommend adjustments in programs, policies and procedures to improve performance in a safe and cost-effective manner.

  • Provide in-house veterinary services. Observe a weekly schedule of location visits to advise and consult with chicken and production managers on bird health and disease prevention. Respond with urgency in trouble shooting bird health and disease issues that may arise. Identify risks to bird health and care by location and advise chicken and production managers on necessary improvements

  • Advise on technical questions related to feed safety and animal care programs, program compliance and bio-security.

  • As a benchmark we would like this role to spent around 50-60% of the time customer focused, whether this is side by side working with key account sales manager /sales manager or giving support on distance or training and deploying our technology at customers.

  • Lead and contribute in NPSS poultry pipeline and champion development in CAN MEA region.

  • Lead and following partnership additive pipeline like enzyme, anticox, prebiotics…etc if present in CAN MEA region.

  • Lead the systematic roll out of technology developed (concept or service launches) according the launch plans for the regional business in close cooperation with CAN MEA SMT organization.

  • Leads projects (poultry health ) with a regional character.

  • Develop the approach with the local commercial team (both key accounts managers as technical specialists) to achieve trusted advisor status at those customers and rally the team around the opportunity to facilitate business growth

  • Partners with go to market teams to give input in strategy for establishing new customer relationships.

  • Roll out training & best practice sharing in the region to make sure all relevant team members have the necessary knowledge to successfully position our species portfolio

  • Continuously improve quality, efficiency and safe behavior regarding poultry health services. Provide timely, high quality data to meet the CAN MEA business.

  • Identify new poultry business opportunities at customers and/or identify the needs for specific developments that have to be put on radar of the CAN MEA Poultry Strategic Marketing and Technology team

  • Conducts needs assessment and gathers requirements for key accounts customers with the most significant business impact by visits to those key accounts.

  • Oversees and provides guidance to direct reports in identifying solutions for the customer, exploring competitor capabilities and determining value.


  • Understanding the needs of progressive customer and translating them into business and development opportunities for the CAN MEA poultry technology and services pipeline

  • Identify new business opportunities at customers and/or identify the needs for specific developments that have to be put on radar of the CAN MEA poultry and ruminant SMT team.

  • Act as sounding board for new concepts and solutions before bringing them to market.

  • Remain informed of animal healthcare advances and best practices; communicate opportunities for improvement to appropriate managers and leaders, as appropriate.


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree veterinary medicine in general or related field.

  • Be recognized as a poultry and Gut health expert in the industry with over 5 years.

  • Deep knowledge with poultry feed additive.

  • Business/Commercial savviness and customer focused mindset.

  • Demonstrated proven success in development, application or leadership of technology to support business growth

  • Experience with finances, including managing budgets and business decision metrics

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), intra & internet applications, and others

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • Effective team player and shares knowledge willingly.

  • International Travel >40%

  • Fluent in English and regional local language (Arabic or Turkey)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master degree (or equivalent experience) in animal health or other related study

  • Strong project management skills

  • International studies and/or working experience.
