After the procurement of the goods, the Import Operations Specialist will be responsible for all the procedures of import activities until the goods are delivered to the plants.
The Import Operations Specialist is responsible for the performance of the operations that are under their responsibility and additional responsibilities in compliance with the legislations / local laws and rules /ethics of Cargill on a timely manner.
After the procurement of the goods that are under their responsibility, carry on the whole process from the delivery of the products from the suppliers to Cargill plants in Turkey (TR).
Organizes the information flow with the seller of the product, shipping agent, land transportation agent, banks, ports, customs, customs broker, service provider firms and inspection companies.
Follow up and organize the orders to the suppliers and arranges / follow up the transportation organization
Controls the import documents issued by the supplier for the products which will be imported, inform the supplier if there is any missing document or any amendment is needed before the goods arrive to TR
Controlling the draft import declaration issued by the customs broker, if any mistake is found, instruct the customs broker to make the correction before the declaration is registered to the customs
Follow up the arrival of the goods and the shipping documents
Sends all shipping docs received to the customs broker in order to make the customs clearance
After the goods arrive, follow up the discharge of the goods and port operations , coordinates the customs clearance and payment of the fees.
Following import regulation changes and taking actions according to these changes.
Prepares and provides the necessary monthly & weekly reports in his/her area of responsibility
Developing and implementing effective systems and procedures to ensure flawless execution
Controlling the invoices received from the service providers (e.g.: customs broker, shipping agents, transporter companies, warehouses, etc.) and handling the invoices to accounting dept on time
Responsible of machinery & equipment and spare parts imports of plants in coordination with purchasing team
Bachelor degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Foreign Trade or Logistics
Min 7-8 years of experience in import processes and regulations
Have knowledge in road, ocean, air and rail logistics operations and legislation
Having IPR knowledge and implementation
Preferably having experience in import of food products
Having strong communication skills
Team player, having self-motivation skills , open to learn

Adapt to a change easily
Able to work with diverse supplier profiles
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Having strong stress management skills
Ability to manage complex and competing priorities with time management and organizational skills
Fluent in both written and spoken English (plus French is preferred)
